Miss Kay has been a hall monitor at Shaker High School since October of 2004. She has always had a passion for working with kids and she has made a very positive impact throughout the years. Every morning, she greets them happily and has become a familiar figure for everyone in the building. She creates a welcoming environment that helps students start their day on a positive note.

Over the years, she has noticed some notable signs of growth in students. She has stated that maturity levels have increased significantly, with students having become more engaged in their education compared to when they were freshmen. Meeting with students who stay after school daily makes her proud because she gets to witness their commitment and determination. She believes this dedication will help them succeed in the future.

Her favorite memories consist of interacting with students and getting the opportunity to know them brightens her day which keeps her motivated to show up every day. Her favorite place is the front desk because she gets hugs from the students. These small moments are what make her job truly meaningful.
