The Mohawk Hudson Humane Society (MHHS for short), has many animals that have been overlooked. They are all very sweet, but need some time to warm up to new people, as many of them are strays or were abandoned.
The animals I will be highlighting are all marked as “Hidden Gems” – animals that have been at the Humane Society for over 6 months. Many of these animals are amazing and often need time and patience for their real personalities to come through.
The first animal being showcased is Bliz. Although he might be shy at first and need some time to come out of his shell, Bliz shows off how energetic he truly can be. He will do best in a home without little kids but could possibly be open to another canine companion.
Percy is a shy pup at first, especially when meeting new people. Once he gets to know you, though, his true personality shines, and he can get very excited. With this excitement, he might forget his manners sometimes and will need help being taught them. He has met other dogs before and has done well. He would do great with other dog siblings as well as older human siblings.
Corbin is a big puppy and tends to be the life of the party. He loves to go on hikes which helps get his energy out. He would love for his forever family to also partake in his excitement for adventures. Since he can be very protective of his favorite toys, he would do best in a home that can understand and help work on his protectiveness over his things, which he has already been building on.
Miracle is a smart dog who loves to learn new tricks and already knows many. She will need to be the only dog in the house and would love to have the house to herself at her forever home with no young kids. She loves nature and would do great in a home that shares her love for outdoor walks.
These dogs are far from the only ones in their program. It would be wonderful if you could spread the word about these overlooked animals who all deserve forever homes, or donate whatever you can at their website, mohawkhumane.org.
