On Saturday, November 7, the American people finally found out who won the long awaited election. Joe Biden, former Vice President to President Obama and former member of the United States Senate, is now the Official President Elect. Though this is a great victory for Biden, it’s also a victory for Kamala Harris, who will become the first South Asian, Black, and female Vice President.

              Kamala Harris is the daughter of the famous biomedical scientist Shyamala Gopalan Harris and a Stanford professor Donald Harris. She is an American politician, senator, and attorney. With Kamala becoming the Vice President elect, there will be a new breath of opportunity for many women who want to work in the government and White House. Kamala’s presence is the future of many young American women. “While I may be the first woman in this office, I will not be the last-because every little girl watching tonight sees that this is a country of possibilities.” Her reassurance to the future women of the White House is truly admirable and touching and I am so happy that she will go down in history as the first female Vice President of color.
